Buying at auction

All sales conducted by C W Harrison & Son Ltd are carried out under our Standard Conditions Of Sale, a copy of which can be downloaded here.

Additional conditions of sale may apply and these will either be shown in the catalogue or made as an announcement by the auctioneer. Please ask at the office on view or sale days for further information.

Buyer's Premium

A Buyer's Premium of 15% applies at all C W Harrison & Son Ltd sales. 

There is an additional surcharge of 3% plus VAT on all bids placed via the internet utilising our internet bidding partners.

Registration

In order to bid you will need a bidding card which is available free of charge from the Pay Office upon production of current identification that can confirm your name and address. Forms of identification that we accept are driving licences, bank statements, utility bills, gun or fishing licences, and passports. Please note that we will not accept bank debit or credit cards as identification. If you do not have identification with you then you will be required to leave a deposit of either £50 if you are bidding for general goods or £200 if you are bidding on vehicles. Your deposit will be set against your invoice if you are successful with your bid, or refunded to you once we have established that no bids have been allocated to your bidding number.

Payment

Goods can be paid for during the sale. We accept the following forms of payment.
Cash (up to a limit of £5,000 due to money laundering regulations).
Debit card (customer not present payments are not accepted)
Credit card (customer not present payments are not accepted)
Bank draft - made payable to 'C W Harrison & Son'.
Bank transfer - no additional charge, details available from the Pay Office.
Please note that we do not accept business cheques unless you have undergone a bank status enquiry.

Collection

Any items purchased have to be collected in line with our published collection schedules which are printed in the catalogue.
Monday daytime sales - collection is usually until 4pm on Wednesday of the same week.
Lots not collected within the limits as stated in the catalogue will be subject to storage charges.
